Duck Soup in Concert @ Duck Soup in Concert
Jun 30 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Duck Soup is bluegrass, influenced by folk, old time country and Irish music. The group consists of Steve Loring, Fonda Loring, Tom Schwartz, Barry Lempe, and Gene Zwolak from Cadillac, MI. The band has been together since August of 2000, performing at festivals and bluegrass venues throughout the state. They have a CD of thirteen of their favorite cover tunes. You might wonder why a band as talented as Duck Soup is recording all covers instead of their own original music? Fortunately, the tunes they’ve selected are by people such as Steve Earle, Townes VanZandt, Bill Stains, John Hurt and other great songwriters that are obscure enough to sound fresh to those who haven’t heard the real McCoys. How often do you get a chance to hear Jimmy Driftwood’s “Battle of New Orleans?” Duck Soups version is an improvement on the original.
